Upward Soccer 2011

Both my daughters played soccer this year. Some of the other parents expressed interest in getting them, so I am putting them up here to share. Hope you like. Shoot me an email (damoncorwine@gmail.com) if you have any questions or need any help.

More Fall Colors

There are the rest of the pictures from my hike on this past Saturday. I went up to North Chickamauga Pocket Wilderness for about a 6 mile hike. The good news is that I got more than sore knees, ankles, and a huge blister on my heal (wore the wrong boots)... I came home with pictures. I know, I know... Big Shocker, Right?

This is the counterpart to the picture I did for the free download this month. (You can find that post by clicking here.) I kind of like the contrast of the red leaf in the water surrounded by the green algae. The low angle and kind of off line tend to draw the eye. It is not a classical composition, and they say you should never break the rules, but you all know me...

I liked the contrast of the tree up against the cliff face. It was beauty nestled up to the rigid coldness of the rocks. If I had to choose, I think the second would be my pick from this lot. The sunlight filtering through the leaves gives a bluish haze. The third one has the same elements, but just not as much.

These last two, I was struck by the orange leaves carpeting the ground with the sun gleaming off them. It was a surreal feeling to be walking on a brown path and suddenly have this break the monotone color scheme around you.

What news from your neck of the woods? I hope everyone is getting to enjoy this beautiful time of year. I will be looking forward to seeing some more of it over the next few weeks. This winter looks to be fairly mild. Normally that means a lack of snow, so it might mean a necessary practice session of still life pictures or two... :-)

Anyway, enough from me. Have a good week and I will talk with you later.

October Free Download

Here it is, guys! I know you have been waiting with baited breath, so I will not torment you any longer. This is just my way of saying thanks for all those who have supported me over the last several months. I hope you like them. Feel free to share the love with your friends.  By the way, this is the image that I have set up on my desktop background right now. I really like it.

In order to save the image, just right click and select "save picture as" or similar option.

I know fall is in full swing almost everywhere. We are in the tail end of it here in the south. The hot months,  combined with the least rain on record for the month of August, mean that most of the leaves will be brown before they change colors. You can kind of see that in the picture above. There is one leaf with color while the rest are just brown and boring.

I hope you are doing well. I would love to hear from you. Email me or just comment below. You may have noticed that I recently updated system parameters to allow anyone to comment. That way you don't have to be an active blogger or gmail member to comment. Anyway, enough from me. Talk to you later.

October Winner!!!!

Tamara!!! You are the lucky one!!! You have won a matted picture of your choice. Just let me know which one you want.

And for everyone else, fear not! I have some pictures for your enjoyment as well.  This first one is a re-edit of the carousel picture from the night in the park. It is a wee bit darker with a fair amount more conrtrast. Take a look...

These last two were somewhat of a surprise to me. While they didn't turn out the way I had envisioned, I was fascinated by them anyway. The scene was a little girl twirling a glow-in-the-dark hula-hoop surrounded by other families and couples. Various bric-a-brac littered the foreground. I was hoping to get only the little girl in focal range, but that is not what I got. It still kind of works for me though...

Searching for my muse...

Spent some time at Coolidge Park with some friends the other night. Took my camera with me but really didn't feel like using it. I spent most of the night wishing something would grab my attention. I kind of think that I have maxed out the whole night time image, but I lack another topic to move to. So I took some more night time pictures...

And as usual... I took some weird shots. Here they are. I think they could be the background shots for a commercial or something like that. Maybe call them "Seeing the Right Things Clearly". Don't forget to check out the October Giveaway. I will pick the winner on Wednesday.

Deer in the park

Here are the pictures I promised on the October Giveaway post. By the way, if you have not yet entered to win, you can do so here.
I borrowed a lens to get a closer look. Much thanks to Scott and Beth for hooking me up.

"Gimme some sugar..."

These next ones were a series. Allow me to interpret what I think was going through their minds... After all, I feel qualified since I am both a younger brother and a father. I have experience on both ends...

"Hey guys, watch this..."

"Leave me alone!!!"

"I was just playing..."

"Stop laughing!!!"

"I just want to be left alone..."
